Dena Peery
I am a dedicated Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with over 23 years of experience delivering compassionate and professional health care to individuals of all ages. I received my bachelor of nursing degree from Mountain State University and earned my Master of Science in Nursing, specializing in Psychiatric Mental Health, from Walden University. I am board-certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
My professional interests include attention disorders, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, and trauma-related conditions, with a special interest in working with individuals who have experienced life-changing events and feel stuck in their current circumstances. I focus on patient-centered care by building strong relationships and creating personalized treatment plans that meet each patient’s needs. I’m skilled in both medication and non-medication treatments, including therapy, cognitive-behavioral techniques, and lifestyle changes.
Outside my clinical work, I’m passionate about advancing mental health education and awareness. I stay updated with the latest research and am dedicated to improving mental health care. Socially, I enjoy walking, practicing Pilates, Yoga, mindfulness, and spending time with friends and family by the water.
Guided by the philosophy, “Live simply so that others can simply live,” I approach care with humility, empathy, and respect. This helps me focus on providing compassionate and effective support for a more fulfilling and meaningful life.
